Lima Criolla: Authentic Peruvian Soup Experience in Austin

Such a great spot! The restaurant was super accommodating, the service was friendly, and the food was incredible. The maracuyá drink was my favorite *so refreshing* and the ceviche was fresh and full of flavor. I also loved the ají de gallina and the empanada, both cooked perfectly. Overall, everything we ordered was delicious and I’d definitely come back again.

My family and I came to this Peruvian Restaurant and the food was so delicious. Great friendly service. Our server Daniel was very attentive and great with the kiddos. Love this place. Definitely a good to if your in Austin Texas area.

Some reviews complain the food is too salty but for me it wasn't salty enough. They should just put salt shakers on the table. The Huacaina sauce tasted like it was from a pouch or glass jar made in a factory somewhere. Didn't seem made fresh. The aguadito was perfect. The papa rellena also would have been better with more salt. A little chopped apple in the chicha morada would have been nice. Staff was friendly and attentive. Prices were too high.

I travel to Lima quite often for work and this place really comes close. If you want Peruvian food in austin, this is your strongest bet! As far as Peruvian food goes, finding a place like this is a godsend. The owners are Peruvian themselves, and you can tell that they pour that identity into the food. They offer everything you'd expect: causa, lomo saltado, roasted chicken, and even chicha morada to drink. Whenever I feel a craving for Peruvian food, I come to Lima Criolla

This is the type of place where I would honestly keep going back and ordering just to try new things because everything on the menu looks amazing as has been everything I’ve tried so far. Came here for my birthday the server was so nice and gave me balloons! This time: arroz con pollo, which was cilantro rice really good; aguadito, both of these dishes had the dark meat chicken which was my favorite. Estofado de pollo was more white meat and I didn’t like it as much this time but it is still really exceptional I’ve had that one a lot. Previously aji de gallina is something really different if you want to try something new. And of course pisco sours I will allways come back for those.

I go to the gym across the street everyday for the past 3 years. I always smell delicious aroma coming from this restaurant so I finally decided to check it out. Boy am I glad I did. The food is delicious- I got the fried rice and empanada. I will eat this at least 1 time a week from now on. Highly recommend.

My first Peruvian food experience! The Lucuma ice cream had such a unique sandy texture, definitely worth coming back for. The service was very hospitable, and I loved the atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!
